Dr. Anitha R. is Assistant Professor in the Department of Tourism Studies at Sree Narayana Arts and Science College, Kumarakom. She holds a Ph.D. in Tourism from Bharathiar University, focusing on responsible tourism practices in the hospitality sector of Kerala, specifically Kumarakom. Dr. Anitha has a diverse educational background, with degrees in Sociology (MA) and Chemistry (BSc) from the University of Kerala, along with a Master's in Tourism Management from Madurai Kamaraj University. She also holds several diplomas and certifications in tourism management, air ticketing, computer applications, and yoga. With extensive experience in both academia and industry, including her role as a Vocational Teacher and Research Associate, Dr. Anitha’s research interests lie in Responsible Tourism and MICE Tourism. She has authored several journal articles and presented papers at international conferences, covering topics like local governance in tourism and Kerala’s ethnic cuisines in responsible tourism.
In addition to her teaching responsibilities, Dr. Anitha plays a significant role in various committees and clubs at the college, serving as the Convenor of the Tourism Club and a member of the Research and Women Cells. She is also an active member of the Academic Council and Board of Studies at M.G. University. Dr. Anitha's outreach activities involve community engagement through Kudumbashree-related initiatives, SDG promotion, and awareness campaigns. She is also regularly invited to give public lectures and has participated in national seminars on tourism and research methodologies.
