Syam S. is an experienced Assistant Professor in the Department of Computer Applications at Sree Narayana Arts and Science College, Kumarakom. He holds an M.Tech in Computer & Information Technology from M.S. University, Tamil Nadu, an MCA from Cochin University of Science & Technology(CUSAT), and a B.Sc. in Mathematics from Sree Narayana College, Kollam. He has cleared the UGC NET in Computer Science and is currently pursuing his PhD from Mahatma Gandhi University, Kottayam. With over 18 years of teaching with administrative experience, Prof. Syam has held various academic and administrative positions, including Director of Corporate Relations and Placement and Assistant Professor at UKF College of Engineering & Technology,  MCA Department at Sree Narayana Institute of Technology and MACFAST, Tiruvalla. His teaching expertise spans subjects like Database Management, Operating Systems, Object-Oriented Programming, Software Engineering, and Machine Learning. His research interests lie in Image Processing, Machine Learning, and Deep Learning. He has published journal articles and presented papers at international conferences, including one on machine learning-based breast cancer classification at the 2023 IEEE International Conference.

He has also contributed significantly to student placement activities, organising recruitment drives for companies like TCS, Wipro, and Infosys, successfully placing students in leading organisations. He has actively participated in faculty development programs and is involved in university-level roles as a member of the Board of Studies in UG Computer Science at Mahatma Gandhi University. His commitment to student success, combined with his leadership and organisational skills, makes him a valuable asset to the institution.
